Top Dead Center's goal is to be greater than the sum of its parts. We've spent a lot of time, and carefully deliberate searching, to find the right musicians to round out our new lineup. Say hello to the revamped Top Dead Center!
Althea Vacalis - Lead Vocals
Drawing on a career that's spanned the majority of her life, Althea packs a powerful voice and presence in a compact package! Formerly a professional artist in Nashville, Althea has honed her craft over the years fronting multiple bands and projects. Able to cover everything from country to heavy metal, pop to screamo, and anything in between, Althea was the perfect choice to front Top Dead Center!
Dan Nemec - Lead/Rhythm Guitar
Drawing from an eclectic mix of influences, ranging from the avant garde and heavy/doom metal to more mainstream pop punk and emo, Dan's unique voice and approach are key to the new Top Dead Center sound. Always up for a challenge and always looking for new ways to approach his instrument, the word "no" doesn't exist in Dan's musical vocabulary! He makes up the first half of Top Dead Center's guitar duo.
Jason Shank - Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals
After 25 years of playing guitar in cover and original bands, Jason brings a wealth of experience and perspective to bear. Having grown up on hair metal, and later thrash metal, Jason's guitar-forward approach drives him to morph more pop-oriented music into something any rocker at heart would be proud to play. He fills out the second half of Top Dead Center's guitar duo.
Matt Dudley - Bass, Backing Vocals
Laying down a powerful and steady low end, Matt has anchored Top Dead Center's rhythm section since the band's inception. His experience and understanding of the local music scene are invaluable to the band's song selection and curation. Matt provides both a strong bass and a steadying hand as Top Dead Center moves forward in its current incarnation. Without Matt, there would be no Top Dead Center!
Nick Vricella - Drums, Percussion
A band is only as good as its drummer, and Nick proves why Top Dead Center is set to be a force once again! Its original drummer, Nick is very much the heartbeat of the band as he pushes things ever onward. His consistent tempo and leadership, both behind the kit and behind the scenes, has helped keep Top Dead Center going for nearly a decade. True to drummer form, Nick drives Top Dead Center forward!
